Responsibilities
- Responsible for the day to day operation of the field team to ensure company processes and procedures are adhered while maintaining safe work environment.
- Ensure that field team has all necessary equipment, in working condition, and supplies to successfully complete tasks on various job sites.
- Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assemble power equipment, hand tools and location boxes
- Inspect all tools and equipment
- Supervise loading of trucks and trailers
- Proper vehicle checks
- Review with field team daily work plans and task assignments
- Ensure that tasks are being completed on site by field team
- Duties include but are not limited to:
- Brief review of property conditions
- Reprioritize tasks if necessary based on initial review of property
- Start crew on assigned tasks
- Complete specific seasonal tasks to ensure property is prepared for clients
- Ensure all building are properly secured before leaving client site
- At end of day, ensure all necessary paperwork has been completed, equipment returned, cleaned and stored properly, any repairs or inventory check has been completed or reported.
- Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assign crew members to complete garbage run, unload equipment, tools and location bins from trucks.
- Sign in tools and equipment; ensure they have been properly cleaned and maintained.
- Pick up parts for equipment maintenance and ensure shop is organized and clean.
- Complete daily review of crew members to submit to office.
- Other duties include training new staff members in accordance with policies and procedures; determining breaks, conduct safety review meetings, ensuring time cards are completed properly and provide constructive feedback to field members.
Requirements
- Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Landscape Supervisor.
- Confident in assisting field team whenever necessary; handyman proficiency.
- Experienced in power equipment and hand tools.
- Previous experience driving pickup truck is required.
- Ability to manage team efficiently and effectively.
- Clean Criminal record and clean Driver’s Abstract is required.
Job Summary
Firstly, we are looking for a Landscape Supervisor in Port Carling! This Property Management company has developed a trusting reputation among the Muskoka regions. The company is responsible for providing concierge level of property management services to luxury vacation homes in Muskoka. Therefore, we are looking for Supervisors who have proven experience in leading and managing a team of Landscape Laborer’s.
Secondly, the ideal candidate will be someone who is able to organize their team efficiently, while providing hands on support and assistance wherever necessary. Therefore, it is a strong asset that the Lead Hand has Handyman capabilities, and is physically able to resolve various tasks that occur on the property. It is essentially the responsibility of the Supervisor to ensure that their team is ready to work, have all tools necessary to complete jobs effectively, and monitor the performance of team members. All job site duties must be safely, and appropriately completed prior to leaving each client property.
Lastly, the position is full time, permanent. There is work all year around; alternating between winter and summer duties. The successful candidate must be eager to work, personable and reliable. Due to the nature of the position, a clean criminal record and clean drivers abstract is required.
